Frederieke Taylor gallery
“New Drawings” by Lisa Sigal, on exhibition from 20 October – 3 December 2005, at Frederieke Taylor Gallery.
Opening reception: Thursday, 20 October 2005, 6-8 PM.
Frederieke Taylor gallery is pleased to announce its third one person show of new work by Lisa Sigal.
While Sigal is best known for large, site specific installations, this show will consist of her
smaller works on paper and vellum. Sigal’s new works are delicately layered drawings, densely
overlaid like the urban landscape, a place which is layered with time, experience, and chance.
With this work Sigal continues her exploration of the space between flat abstraction and illusion
while using layers of painted paper and lines that allow the suggestion of architectural space.

Some of Sigal’s recent and current shows include "Make It Now", a group show at the Sculpture Center,
"A House of Many Mansions", at the Aldrich Museum in Connecticut, Cabinet Magazine's Gordon Matta-Clark,
"Odd Lot's", at White Columns, NY and a show curated by Gregory Volk and Sabine Russ called
"Surface Charge", at the Anderson Gallery in Richmond, Virginia.
Gallery hours are:
Tuesday-Saturday, 11 to 6
